Discover our tips on how to eat carbohydrates better
Carbohydrates are known to make you fat and promote weight gain, in fact, they tend to be stored as fat. In truth, this is not always the case.
Here are 3 tips that will help you consume carbohydrates without gaining weight
1.Carbohydrates do not make you gain weight when consumed reasonably
If your body burns 2000 calories a day and consumes 2500 calories a day, your weight will increase. On the other hand, if your body burns 2000 calories per day and consumes 1500 calories per day, you will lose weight, that's the basis. As long as the calories you eat don't exceed the calories your body needs, you won't gain weight.
2.Choose the right times to consume carbohydrates
A few hours before training. Whatever activity you choose, HIIT, weight training or other intense training, this method allows you to use carbohydrates as an energy source.
After physical activity. When you draw energy directly from muscle glycogen storage, the muscles will be empty and ready to absorb carbohydrates at the end of the workout.
3. Choose low or moderate glycemic index carbohydrates
- Fruits and vegetables
- Quinoa, buckwheat, chestnuts, sweet potatoes and other tubers (yams, etc.)
- The cereals
- Legumes (lentils, peas, beans, etc.)
